Truly Mine & Truly Yours Cover Reveal!

Published June 5, 2019 by bookbesties

The night we met in the dimly lit bar, she looked like a
brunette bombshell, and I wanted to learn her deepest secrets. With sun-kissed
skin and soulful bedroom eyes, she was pure temptation, and I was mesmerized.
As one drink led to two, I craved more of her playful banter and
taunting lips. Resisting her wasn’t an option, and we quickly became a
desperate mess of tangled limbs and hot kisses. She tasted like the sweetest
sin, but I was no saint.
Once we caught our breaths, and it became obvious that meeting
her wasn’t a coincidence, everything changed. Now I must deny her at all costs.
Friends. It’s all we can ever be.
After years of lying to myself and keeping her at a distance, I
want to pull her close. Sophie’s on my mind more than ever as my instincts to
protect her take over. Regardless of my attempts to help, she pushes me away
and makes it clear she doesn’t need me.
I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, to show her I’m the
good guy, but one night takes a tragic turn for the worse when her boyfriend
and I start throwing punches.
And ends when I’m arrested for his murder.

This is a friends-to-lovers roommate romance filled with drama, suspense, & of course, plenty of angsty slow burn goodness you’ve come to expect in a Kennedy Fox book!

This is Crazy(Review Post)

Published June 4, 2019 by bookbesties

Zara Stone

All my life, I’ve said I will never date a hockey player. I know better because I’ve seen and lived it all. My father is a hockey god, my brother is the captain of the most successful NHL team in the world, and my brother-in-law also plays in the league. Their lives are complicated, so I went in the opposite direction.
I fell in love with a scholar. But instead of proposing marriage, he broke up with me.
Three months later, I saw his engagement picture on Instagram. I couldn’t let him get away with that. No, it didn’t matter what, I was going to make that man see that I did not need him.

Evan Richards
I was in the running to pass my point record from last year, ready to claim the number one spot in the league. On top of my game, I was riding my career high wave.
Then, Hockey’s Princess, Zara Stone tweeted me. She wanted me to crash her ex’s wedding.
The worst that could happen? A PR nightmare. The best? A fun night with a beautiful woman.
It started out as a game—something I’m good at. Her crazy idea twisted into something I wasn’t looking for, something neither of us wanted.

When push comes to shove, one thing runs through my mind:
This is Crazy. Also, this is crazy right.

Yes, this is crazy…….crazy good!

Okay, first the cover is very appealing and second it’s a sports romance, and third, HOCKEY! I was IN!

Right from the first sentence you will be able to tell that the story will have you engaged. Zara(loved her name) has to deal first with her boyfriend breaking up with and then finds out that he proposes to another female. What would you do? Well social media here she comes and she gets the attention of Evan who is a cocky, uber good hockey player. They meet and the attraction is sizzling.

I loved all the characters. Her family are hockey greats also and Zara has a twin who always has great one-liners to say! The story flowed easily and it will have you flipping the pages to see if she can get revenge on her ex or will she give in to her attraction to Evan. And Evan, ladies Evan will be your new book boyfriend. He is so sexy, sweet and always has the right words. Trust when I tell you that this book is making me go on a binge reading anything by Natasha! Thanks for the great read.

Wine and Dine(Review Post)

Published June 3, 2019 by bookbesties

When a sexy, mature man-of-means encounters a silver vixen, healing her broken heart might be worth more than gold.

Dolores Chance.
When I was falling apart, I fell in love.
It wasn’t supposed to happen like this.
I ran away from life and ended up running into…his dog.
Actually, his dog ran into me. I don’t care for dogs.
Then I met the owner.

Garrett Fox.
When my neighbor’s sister came to visit,
I promised to show her around town.
I’m an investor in things, not people, not emotions.
I’m not a fan of love.
I’ve been burned before.
Then I met Dolores.

Romance has no age limit.
From author L.B. Dunbar comes another steamy romance for the over 40.

Dolores needs a much needed break after life beat her down. Her brother, after a long hiatus is back in their hometown of Blue Ridge and encourages her to go to his condo in California for a bit of rest and much needed relaxation.

She didn’t expect her first introduction to Cali comes in the form of a wet dog! Garrett and his dog Wally run into Dolores during a stroll on the beach and his first impression of her is that she is a hot mess, but he is intrigued, especially  when finds out that this woman is his neighbors sister who is in town.

Garrett is a successful business owner and at 50 years old he is not looking for love. Dolores owns the diner in Blue Ridge and has had a “lover” who has never wanted to be monogamous. Dolores is definitely jaded. Dolores and Garrett start a friendship and an attraction starts to marinate. Garrett is in uncharted waters with the feelings that are rising in him and Dolores has never had a man treat her the way her new neighbor does and struggles since her stay is temporary., she has so many questions in her head that gets in the way of things; Will she be able to go back to Blue Ridge? Will Garrett give in to his newfound feelings? As a huge fan of Dunbar’s Silver Fox series, this author knows how to give a good balance to her stories. The chemistry is addicting and the romance is off the charts!

You will devour until the last page, much like I do with all this author’s work.

Attracted to the Earl(Review Post)

Published May 28, 2019 by bookbesties

Unable to read or write, an earl discovers love in the last place he expects to find it—within the embrace of a brilliant woman—in this sexy, irresistible novel from USA Today bestselling author Bronwen Evans.

What’s an earl to do?
The Earl of Argyle has died suddenly, leaving his brother Guy Neville at a complete loss. The dull-witted second son, as his father used to call him, Guy is now responsible for the estate and his brother’s seat in the House of Lords. Shamed by an inability to read or write, his distress is multiplied by an inquiry from a dyed-in-the-wool bluestocking who wishes to use the Argyle library and study a rare plant on the estate. Guy’s first instinct is to decline her request—until he catches a glimpse of Miss Abigail Pinehurst.

How’s a girl to behave?
Abigail cares for only one thing: plants. She is unconcerned about how she looks, what she wears, or the impression she makes on men. An orphan who turned to books for solace in a miserly, cruel institution, she now makes her living illustrating the greenery she adores. Lord Argyle, in fact, with his uncanny memory and chiseled features, is the first man to capture her attention—a ridiculous distraction since he is so far above her station. But her unreasonable heart has a mind of its own.

Look for the enchanting Disgraced Lords series from Bronwen Evans:

And don’t miss her novels in the Imperfect Lords series:

Includes an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

This is the first book by Bronwen Evans that I have read and I am glad to say I look forward to reading more of her work.    I really enjoyed this book!  I love how both leading characters have their weaknesses and how they accept one another fully in spite of those weaknesses.  I love how both characters are given the chance to grow and find their own self value and their places in the world through the relationships they hold dear.

Abigail Pinehurst is the very talented artist who has been commissioned by Lady Calthorpe to paint the elusive and rare Ghost Orchid that can only be found in the forest of the Argyle Estate.  On her way to Argyle House, Patrick Neville uses her darkest secret to blackmail her into digging around and uncovering what he hopes will be evidence that his cousin, Guy Neville, the new Earl of Argyle is unfit to run the estate.

Guy Neville, Earl of Argyle never wanted his title for many reasons the biggest being a disability that nearly cost him his life, but now that it’shis he will do what he must to keep it out of the hands of his greedy cousin, Patrick Neville.   Will the unexpected and coincidental arrival of a beautiful artist prove to be a spy sent to find out his secrets or the woman of his dreams?

I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to find out what all of you think.

A Rake’s Revenge(Review Post)

Published May 28, 2019 by bookbesties

After being abandoned by her almost-betrothed, Caroline Nash vows to never again get involved with a man. Especially not the middle-aged earl her father has chosen for her. The man is a pompous ass and one of Prinny’s set who only wants her for her dowry. To complicate matters, a kiss from the Midnight Marauder unleashes an unbelievable passion that Caroline can’t seem to forget.

Stephan, the Marquis of Kendrick, poses as the robbing marauder to avenge his low-born mother. But he starts questioning his plans when one of his “missions” crosses paths with Caroline and leads to the kiss of a lifetime. Stephan senses that this proper miss is more fiery than he expected and he wants more.

To be properly introduced to the woman of his dreams, he attends the Prince Regent’s house party. He finds her, begging a friend to pretend to court her – to fend off the man her father has chosen. Stephan couldn’t wish for a better opportunity – he’ll happily court her, but he doesn’t want to pretend. Their connection is sizzling, but can this charade become something real once Stephan’s secrets are revealed?

Each book in the Rake Trilogy series is STANDALONE:
* A Rake’s Redemption (FREE AT TIME OF POSTING)
* A Rake’s Revenge

This is another new author to me and I am excited to see what/ who else she has in store for us!  This book has everything fun; an independent leading lady, pirates, a masked bandit who steals as many kisses as riches, an estranged Marquis, an unwanted betrothal, and a crazy scheme to get out of it. This book was a total run read and I loved every minute of it from page 1 to the last period.  I really hope to read many more stories from this author in the near future.

Caroline Nash is completely resigned to living life “on the shelf” especially after being jilted by her ex- betrothed, that is until her father calls in a favor of the Prince Regent and she finds herself almost betrothed to the Earl of Tisdale a man much her senior.  In a desperate attempt to thwart her betrothed, her father and her Prince’s plans for her she finds herself begging a favor from a friend of a friend.  Will the favor work to her benefit or will she lose everything in her marriage to the dastardly Earl of Tisdale?

Stephan Stoddard, Marquis of Kendrick, is quite content with his life as a pirate and the Midnight Marauder, taking from the snobs of the ton and giving to the poor.  So what’s to stop him from having a little fun with the debutants of London, by stealing their kisses, while he’s at it? An eventful run in and the attempt to save Caroline Nash from a doomed marriage might just change his life as he knows it.

Rebel: Women Who Dare(Review Post)

Published May 28, 2019 by bookbesties

The first novel in USA Today bestselling author Beverly Jenkins’ compelling new series follows a Northern woman south in the chaotic aftermath of the Civil War.

Valinda Lacey’s mission in the steamy heart of New Orleans is to help the newly emancipated community survive and flourish. But soon she discovers that here, freedom can also mean danger. When thugs destroy the school she has set up and then target her, Valinda runs for her life—and straight into the arms of Captain Drake LeVeq.

As an architect from an old New Orleans family, Drake has a deeply personal interest in rebuilding the city. Raised by strong women, he recognizes Valinda’s determination. And he can’t stop admiring—or wanting—her. But when Valinda’s father demands she return home to marry a man she doesn’t love, her daring rebellion draws Drake into an irresistible intrigue.

As you all know I really enjoy when an author does their research and isn’t afraid to maintain historical accuracy no matter how harsh it might be.  I know that I can count on Beverly Jenkins to do just that in her books.  This book was a joy to read!  New Orleans and the Mississippi River Basin has a special place I my heart so that made this story even more endearing for me.  I loved reading about this strong, independent, EDUCATED, black woman and getting a glimpse into her world.

Valinda Lacy is a Northern born, black, teacher who has come to New Orleans to teach former slaves to read and write.  While in New Orleans her strong will and determination for success are put to the test by white supremacists, rogue soldiers, and the stubborn employers of her students.  But rather than give up in the face of adversity she finds help from a handsome stranger and his family.

Drake LeVaq is a New Orleans native, former captain with the Louisiana Native Guard, and a volunteer for the city’s Freedmen’s Bureau.  He lives a fairly quiet life surrounded by his family.  It is a chance meeting where he saves a beautiful, young teacher from a couple of rogue soldiers that makes his whole world change.

This book was both interesting and sweet with equal parts history and romance to make it a truly fulfilling read.

Baby Yours by Kennedy Fox(Review Post)

Published May 23, 2019 by bookbesties

The worst day of my life happened when Brandon died.
We had our entire future mapped out.
Careers, marriage, kids—in that order.
Then the universe threw a curveball and ended it all.

As I come to terms with everything, I learn I’m carrying his baby. Now I’m living with his roommate, the guy who’s made my life a living hell the past two years. Hunter’s now the one to hold me up when all I want to do is fall.

Knowing my religious parents will never accept the pregnancy out of wedlock, Hunter offers to be my fake husband. While I think he’s gone crazy, it’s the only plan that’ll keep them in my life. So I do whatever it takes to make our relationship believable—kissing, touching, even letting him hold me when we sleep. The lines are so blurred neither of us want to admit we’re no longer pretending.

The guilt of what we’re doing eats me alive as I struggle to deal with my emotions. I push him away, but he pulls me closer, showing me how he’s always felt.

Just as I begin to follow my heart, I learn Hunter’s been keeping secrets.
And I’m left to make the hardest decision of my life…

It is always sad and exciting when you are done with the last chapter of a Kennedy Fox book, and that’s how I felt about this one especially. A real page turner, angsts, emotional, loving and sweet read.

With these books you get a whole experience and you really get to know the characters and you feel and can sympathize also. From book one(Baby Mine) you got the feeling for Hunter and I was rooting for him all the way! In book two, Baby Yours, you really see both characters develop and grow.

You see the show that is put on when they pretend to be together for her parents then having to see the struggles that these two have to deal with since Brandon passed away since it has both of them feeling things that have given them guilt. Seeing Lennon as a Mom is beautiful and rewarding. She definitely grew a lot.

I can’t tell you enough how you just want to grab Hunter and never let him go he is just such a wonderful book boyfriend! I am always happy to see the realness between the characters that makes them relatable and trust when I say you will ride that emotional roller coaster with them. I will tell you that by the end of the ride you will have that HEA and you will be jumping up for joy! This book was a hit for me.

I can’t wait for the next couple because that Epilogue is fire!!
