In the game of love…

Georgiana Lucas despises the arrogant and cruel Marquess of Westmorland even before learning that he’s won the deed to her friend Kitty’s home in a card game. Still, Georgiana assures Kitty the marquess wouldn’t possibly come all the way to Derbyshire to throw them out—until he shows up, bloody and unconscious. Fearing that Kitty would rather see him die, Georgiana blurts out that he’s her fiancé. She’ll nurse the hateful man back to health and make him vow to leave and never return. The man who wakes up, though, is nothing like the heartless rogue Georgiana thought she knew…

You have to risk it all

He wakes up with no memory of being assaulted—or of who he is. The bewitching beauty tending him so devotedly calls him Rob and claims she’s his fiancée even as she avoids his touch. Though he can’t remember how he won her hand, he’s now determined to win her heart. But as his memory returns and the truth is revealed, Rob must decide if the game is up—or if he’ll take a chance on a love that defies all

Mistaken identities that turn enemies to lovers is the name of the game in this fantastic book!  Caroline Linden never fails to deliver a leading lady who has everything I love in a heroine as well as great story lines to make them shine.

Reading this story and watching these characters not only blossom into their authentic selves (away from the pressure of society expectations) and overcome their misconceived judgments of each other to fall in love was incredibly touching.

Georgiana Lucas’ shows her compassionate nature when she risks her own safety and rushed to the aid of a stranger who was being attacked on a remote country road.  She shows the depth of that compassion when she discovers the stranger is none other than the enemy of her dear friend and hostess but chooses to hide his identity and nurse him back to health.   Will the lie she told to conceal his true identity comes out and ruin her friendship or will it have her falling in love with a man she once despised?

When Lord Robert Churchill-Gray, Marquess of Westmorland, won the house of Sir Charles Winston in a drunken card game, he didn’t want or need the house and planned to promptly return it to its rightful owner.  That is until the sore loser blackens his name to anyone who will listen including Rob’s own mother.  Not wanting to keep the property but wanting to teach Winston a lesson in humility, Rob travels to the estate to return the deed to Winston’s family and tell them just what he has been up to in London.  On the way there he is attacked: robbed and beaten unconscious.  When he awakens in an unknown bed, with no memory of who or where he is, he is forced to rely on the hospitality of strangers and the care of the beautiful woman everyone claims is his fiancé.  Will he recover his memories and return to his prior bachelor life of drinking and scandal or will he choose to change his ways and win the heart of a woman he once overlooked?

Such a great story that I couldn’t put down.

Fake Date by Monica Murphy(Review Post)

51ne+huw84L._SY346_“This book was like the best sort of dessert. I. Am. Addicted.” – #1 NYT Bestselling Author Rachel Van Dyken

Working at Bliss, Sarah Harrison deals with all sorts of–interesting clientele. Yet no one sparks her interest more than Jared Gaines, the ultra-rich, ultra-sexy businessman who frequents her shop, buying delicate little “gifts” for the women in his life.

But one day, Jared sends her a gift from Bliss. Then another–and another. So when Sarah walks into his office demanding to know why he can’t stop sending her gifts, he makes her an offer she somehow can’t refuse: be his fake girlfriend for the weekend while attending his brother’s engagement party.

Next thing Sarah knows, she’s in San Francisco, pretending to be in love with Jared. Not that it’s a hardship. Once you get the man away from the office, he’s much more relaxed. Sweet. Funny. Even…thoughtful? Oh, and sexier than ever, of course.

Their pretend relationship feels very real, very quickly. Soon Sarah’s in over her head. Could what she and Jared share turn into something real? Or is it all actually…fake?

OUT NOW

Sarah works at a lingerie store and she has a certain customer by the name of Jared that comes in and he is bothersome but so handsome. Jared has been making purchases frequently but when he sees a chance to grab Sarah attention he goes for it. He needs a date for a family function and tag she is it. Sarah’s banter with her friends is funny and makes you want to be part of the friend group. The banter between Jared and Sarah is exciting. I found him to be a little mysterious at first and its interesting to see their relationship change. This is a great read all the way . It has a great flow to the story and well developed characters and cant wait for the next victim in this friend group!

They warned me not to take this
job.
They said you were ruthless,
impossible to please…
I said I was better than them.
I wouldn’t fall for your charm,
your arrogance, or how sexy you fill out that suit.
I wouldn’t fall for your deep brown
eyes or the way that muscle moves in your square jaw when you’re pissed.

I said I could resist you.
I was wrong…

workplace, military romance with a badass alpha boss and the feisty woman who

I really enjoyed this read. The attraction between these two had you turning each page. Patton was broody but alpha and sexy wrapped up in a nice package.

Fletcher Patton is brooding and sexy. He is busy trying to get the deals for his company to come together. The last thing he needs is a distraction by the name of Raquel aka Rocky Morgan. She has just been hired at the company her sister used to work for and she knows that Patton is hard on his employees but little did she think that he would take her breath away. She did not think that she would be so attracted to her boss. Patton is trying to fight off his attraction but some plans don’t always work out. Past issues threaten the close relationship that has become and choices will have to be made.

I loved the attraction in this book as well as the read of it. It was a Very good read.

+++
Welcome to Blue Ridge where sexy silver foxes meet their match of feisty vixens.
The Harrington brothers are a spin-off from Second Chance, but don’t you worry, this over 40 romance can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

This is adult romance at its best. I love the Silver Fox books because it’s a nice change of pace from your typical younger romances. Giant is an alpha mountain man sexiness and Letty was independent and a strong heroine. The chemistry between these two was explosive. The story line was well developed and you just find yourself rooting for them both. Also the covers on her Silver fox books are delicious to say the least! Olvia, aka Letty ends up taking a trip to get George Harrington to sell his land. She needs this deal and commission to not only prove she should be a partner in her uncle business but also help her achieve getting a baby. Meet George aka Giant Harrington who has no thoughts of selling this property that has been in the family for generations. His proposal three days of camping in the land she so wants and then if she can handle that he may entertain her offer. It was fun reading if Letty handle three days in the woods. She will do whatever she can to get Giant to sign on the line.
Giant is pushing 50 and Letty is in her 40’s.
Great read can’t wait for the next brother in the series.

“Before you try to steal my land, perhaps you should learn a thing or two about it.”

I stare up at him as his expression turns virile.

“I know this piece of property could earn you millions.” I look beyond him, taking in the small bit of landscape I can see around his broad hips and crossed arms.
“I told you, I don’t want the money.” He scoffs. “I’m talking about dirt under your toes. Wind in your face. Stars in your eyes.” His eyes nearly dance as though he has undisclosed information he’s waiting to share with me, and strangely, I want to know his secret. And though dirt under my toes doesn’t sound pleasant, it doesn’t sound terrible either.
Still.

Tell me. Tell me all your wisdom and woes. I swallow with the intensity of his glare and rub a hand down the thigh of my jeans.

“Okay, so I’m not Pocahontas. How would I learn?” My voice cracks, sounding meek. Teach me, Yoda.
“From the land.” He pauses. His crossed arms bulge before me and lift with the heave of his frustrated inhale. What would those arms feel like around me?
“And your land will just teach me?” Oh God. Did my voice just drop? Did I exaggerate your land, implying something other than the greenery around us? Damn Marcus and his damnable innuendos, but if this man means I can hike his landscape, I volunteer as tribute. “How?”
“Camping.”
“What?” I stammer. My mouth falls open.
“Camping. Three nights of roughing it and then I’ll think about your proposition. You break before that and no deal.”

My proposition? Did I proposition him? Can he see the images racing through my mind? I want to do all kinds of things to him, starting with the body part closest to me. My heart races, and my sweaty palms…sweat more. My breath catches.

Anything whispers through my mind along with the song “Colors of the Wind.”

My eyes narrow. My heart thuds to a screeching halt.

This is crazy.

But I slowly rise, pressing up on my thigh as I stand. I come to my full height, which doesn’t quite match his, but with the help of the two step difference, I’m close. My gaze meets his fiery eyes. There’s one thing this man needs to learn about me. I like nothing more than to prove others wrong.
“Challenge accepted.”

L.B. Dunbar loves the sweeter things in life: cookies, Coca-Cola, and romance. Her reading journey began with a deep love of fairy tales and alpha males. She loves a deep belly laugh and a strong hug. Occasionally, she has the energy of a Jack Russell terrier. Accused—yes, that’s the correct word—of having an overactive imagination, to her benefit, such an imagination works well. Author of over two dozen novels, she’s created sexy rom-coms for the over 40; intrigue on an island; MMA chaos; rock star mayhem, and sweet small-town romance. In addition, she earned a title as the “myth and legend lady” for her modernizations of mythology as elda lore. Her other duties in life include mother to four children and wife to the one and only.

Jock Road by Sara Ney(Review Post)

EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.

Those are Jackson Jennings, Jr’s three mantras. His entire life, he’s been a trained athlete with only one end-game: the Pro’s. No girls. No parties. No alcohol.

EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.
Repeat.
Every Friday night, Triple J cruises the strip on campus, bored, lonely and conditioned not to party. But the night he meets Charlotte Edmonds on the side of the road, he wonders if his three mantras will ever be enough.

BIG. DUMB. JOCK.
Charlie has no time for Jackson’s antics. Not when he’s stealing her food or teases her to no end, making her tingle in all the right places. But if she’s ever going to have a boyfriend, she’d choose one who isn’t a Neanderthal. One with manners and actual time to spend with her. Not a hulking man-child who cruises the strip at night, in his Big. Dumb. Truck.

I am a Sara Ney fan so I was very excited for this one. Jackson was sweet and rocking that southern twang. Charlie is feisty and funny.  These two together have cute banter. Things happen when you are not looking for it. They both try to fight their attraction but we all know how that usually turns out.

Jackson has it all right now. He is well respected on campus and could have his pick of the women. Only thing is he wants no distractions and the focus is on his football life. What happens when after a chance mtg over a chicken sandwich life starts to take you on a new path. Charlie is starving but cant believe this southern big lug who has taken the food right out of her hand! After a couple more run ins with Jackson and she wants to dislike him but sees her self falling for him. Will Jackson be able to make room for Charlie?

This is Love by Natasha Madison(Review Post)

Published September 4, 2019 by bookbesties
From the best selling series, Something So comes the spin-off series This is…
Vivienne
Never fall in love.
That was my motto, and I was sticking to it.
Having my heart broken once was enough, and I never wanted to do it again.
He was supposed to be a one-night stand, the only thing I do.
One rule shouldn’t be so hard to follow, but then I went back for seconds, then thirds.
After that, I lost count of the number of times I lost myself in his arms. When I wasn’t paying attention, my guard slipped.

Mark
They call me Private Mark for a reason – my whole life is a secret. For two yeats, we danced around each other until I got her right where I wanted her…under me.
Now that I had her, I wasn’t letting her go. I thought we were on the same page. I thought we were building something great.
Boy, was I ever wrong.
I had no idea that while I was falling in love, she was trying to convince herself we were temporary.
She thought I’d walk away.
She was wrong.
Now it’s time to convince her she wants us too and to show her that the crazy, wild thing we have…

This Is Love (This is, #3)This Is Love by Natasha Madison

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seasoned Natasha Madison reader alert!
I love a good sports romance and Natasha always delivers. The story line flows and she always delivers strong characters. Mark is this Greek God who plays hockey so win win. Vivienne is funny and feisty and french. The chemistry is so strong between these two that they burn the pages right on my kindle!

Vivienne is the serial dater not wanting to fall in the love trap. Mark has his sights set on the beautiful woman who never called him. Vivienne’s attraction to Mark has her giving in and breaking all her rules. Mark is determined to break down her walls but Vivienne will give him a run for his money. But,  when her past clashes with her present what will she do? Great quick read!  I would give it 20 stars if they would allow!

Meet the Author:
When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
