Caroline Abbott loves her job—helping engaged couples pick out the perfect save the date cards and invitations for their dream wedding. Working at Noteworthy means she has to deal with the occasional bridezilla, but Caroline’s always up for the challenge.

Until one particular bridezilla walks into the stationery store whose fiancé happens to be the boy Caroline shared her first kiss with. Alexander Wilder is all grown up now, helping run his family’s successful luxury hotel chain, and is somehow even better looking than she remembers.

When Caroline just happens to catch Alex’s fiancée half naked with another man well, of course she has to tell Alex. Of course, he breaks off his engagement.

And of course, the ex-bridezilla has gone completely bonkers.

At least Caroline has her friends to save her from crazy ex-fiancées. But she also has the sudden interest of…Alex? Caroline knows they share a connection, but is he on the rebound? Or after seeing her all these years later, does he really want something more?

OUT NOW!!!

This was a new author to me. I really enjoyed the story line and characters. Caroline works at a store called Noteworthy(very cute) where she helps people pick Save the Dates, invitations and thank you cards. She has to deal with a lot of different personalities and who would have known that her client one day would pose a huge challenge. Her client’s fiance happens to have been her first kiss and boy he has grown up.

Alex is a VP for his family hotel chain and recognizes Caroline right away. There is some chemistry that grows throughout the story. Caroline finds Alex’s fiance in a compromising position and tells Alex. From this point you have fake relationships, crazy exs, wicked attraction and Paris of course! The characters are funny and cute together and have great banter. Very much enjoyed and look forward to more from this author.
I received an Arc for a honest review

OUT NOW

This is my first time reading this author and while this is book two in a series I didn’t know it until I sat down to write this review. To me that speaks volumes about both the superior writing ability of the author as much as my enjoyment of the book, and please know I REALLY enjoyed this book. I love this book for its historical accuracy even as it shines a light on prejudices of the era. It is so refreshing to me when an author isn’t afraid to show the darker side or history. I love how the leading characters overcome their societal differences and find passion in one another.
Finlay Swinton, Viscount Firthwell is in line to inherit a prominent Earldom as long as his family’s darkest secret stays a secret. After a renewed acquaintance with a woman he shared a single unforgettable night of passion turns sour will his entire future be lost?
Charlotte Taylor has found a perfect job, and with her fond memories of a night of unbridled passion and freedom, she is ready to start her new life. All until that perfect new job causes her become reacquainted with the man she shared that night with. When her past catches up to her will she betray the man she loves to protect herself or will she sacrifice her life to protect his future?
This was a book I couldn’t put down and I can’t wait to get my hands on its predecessor.

Say No to the Duke(Review Post)

Published June 25, 2019 by bookbesties

New York Times bestselling author Eloisa James returns with the fourth novel in her breathtaking Wildes of Lindow Castle series.

One little wager will determine their fate—a daring escape or falling into temptation with a rakish lord.

Lady Betsy Wilde’s first season was triumphant by any measure, and a duke has proposed—but before marriage, she longs for one last adventure.

No gentleman would agree to her scandalous plan—But Lord Jeremy Roden is no gentleman. He offers a wager. If she wins a billiards game, he’ll provide the breeches.

If he wins…she is his, for one wild night.

But what happens when Jeremy realizes that one night will never be enough?

Another wonderful book by Eloisa James!   The Wildes of Lindow Castle has been such a fun series to read thus far, so of course I was excited to get my hands of this next book.   This family is so fun and their romances are so fun to watch unfold I couldn’t wait to see how Betsy’s story would unfold.  I always love a story where one of the leading characters is not who they present to the world and how finding love in the right person can make them show their true colors.  That is exactly what happens in this book and I found it to be a very good read because of it.

Lady Boadicea “Betsy” Wilde has refused multiple proposals including the most recent proposal made by Viscount Greywick, sadly the proposal and the refusal has been witnessed by Lord Jeremy Roden – a military friend of one of her brothers- who makes it his mission to champion the match between the two and encourage the Viscount not to give up his pursuit of her hand in marriage.

Lord Jeremy Roden has no interest in getting married anytime soon.  But that doesn’t mean he can’t help his old school friend as he tries to woo Betsy and convince her to marry him, right? Too bad his efforts to help his friend change his views on marriage, love, and most of all Betsy.

I really enjoyed this book and hope you do too.  I cant wait to see where the next Wilde tale will take us.

Foster has always had a huge crush on his best friends sister Wren. After a failed marriage Foster is back in town and has his sights set on Wren. He left all those years ago to try and forget his feelings for her but will he be able to win Wren over and show her what’s been there all along? They start their “fake dates” and feelings start to stir up for Wren.

Poor Foster who had a crush and ended up having to go through some pain just to get to where he is at now. Wren needed some work to see that her true love has been under her nose this whole time. I liked the side characters they were well developed. I mean I love Pizza so the story is a win for me lol. The chemistry feels one sided at the beginning and slow burns it’s way up . This was a smooth read lots of funny parts that will have you chuckling.

Hide your Crazy By Lani Lynn Vale(Review Post)

Published June 18, 2019 by bookbesties

I’m
kind of a lady, but definitely more of a weirdo.
Hearing
the woman at the table behind him say that to her friend should’ve turned Logan
Gibbs off.
It
doesn’t. In all honesty, it only makes him listen harder.
He’s
had enough weird in his life to last a lifetime. The last thing his complicated
life needs is a woman in it who has no clue what color you get when you mix
yellow and blue together.
Yet,
her obvious blonde moments aren’t enough to deter him. Nor is her lack of
finger-painting skills.
I’m
a cop, not a miracle worker.
Hearing
the man in the group behind her say that should’ve had Katy Roberts running
away as fast as her feet would carry her. Katy’s father’s a cop, and it’s hard enough
to live her life with Daddy trying to dictate her every move. She needs another
cop in her life like she needs yet another thing to go wrong.
To
add onto that, she can’t find a job, has no love life to speak of, and has to
be the oldest known virgin in Kilgore, Texas.
Yet,
when she sees his painting—a painting that resembles a piece of the male
anatomy more than the lighthouse they were supposed to be painting—she knows
that she has to give him a chance.
The
very last thing the two of them expect is for her father and his boss to force
them to marry after an eensy-weensy accident. An accident that, surprisingly,
both of them want.

Katy Robert’s and Logan Gibbs first interaction was during a paint night, she was there for a bridal party and he was forced to be there for some team building thing that the police department had put on.

Both noticed each other but their next interaction when Katy goes after her dog and leaves her car on the curb is what introduced them to each other. Little does Logan know that Katy not only lives in his apartment building but also happens to be the Chief’s daughter. Katy does not want to involve herself with a cop and Logan is still dealing with a nasty ex wife.

They end up spending time and as they help each other out their impressions of each other start to change. Attractions fly and with different obstacles thrown at them they will have to see if they can see themselves together. This was a new author to me and I did enjoy certain parts of the story but at times it was a bit disjointed for me. There were a few inconsistencies that had me scratching my head thinking I read something wrong, and going back to re-read and knowing I didn’t. It kind of jumped around for me too much to be able to connect with the characters and I found Katy to be quite juvenal.

The story line was okay, but all in all this was a miss for me.

Some Like it Scandalous(Review Post)

Published June 18, 2019 by bookbesties

9780062838834_f986a

They are sworn enemies…

Theodore Prescott the Third, one of Manhattan’s Rogues of Millionaire Row, has really done it this time. The only way to survive his most recent, unspeakably outrageous scandal is marry someone respectable. Someone sensible. Someone like Daisy Swann. Of all the girls in Gilded Age Manhattan, it had to be her.

Pretending to be lovers…

Daisy Swann has plans and they do not involve a loveless marriage with anyone. But when a devastating family secret threatens to destroy her standing in society, suddenly a fake engagement with Theo is just the thing to make all her dreams come true.

And now it’s time to kiss and make up…

Daisy Swann aspires to sell cosmetics that she has created, but this brainy scientist needs a smooth talking charmer’s flair for words and eye for beauty to make it a success. Before long, Daisy and Theo are trading kisses. And secrets. And discovering that despite appearances, they might be the perfect couple after all.

Okay so I am just going to put it out there for the world to know….. THIS SERIES IS IN MY TOP 5 FAVORITE BOOK SERIES EVER.  Mind you that there are only two books in this series at this time but they are both AMAZING!!!!   I love all things historical fashion and when combined with a quick witted, determined heroine you get books that I just can’t say enough about!  Maya Rodale made me fall in love with these characters and this story from the prologue.

Daisy Swan has her own goals and dreams of creating face creams for the ladies and was looking forward to her long anticipated spinsterhood to make that dream come true.  Too bad her mother and the father of her arch nemesis have other plans for her.  Will their attempts to marry her off succeed or will her dreams of personal success become a reality?

Theodore “Theo” Prescott the third is the wealthy son of “one of Manhattan’s most celebrated millionaire tycoons” and Daisy Swan’s worst enemy.   In the wake of a serious scandal the last thing Theo expected his father to demand of him was marriage, especially marriage to Daisy Swan.  But being forced together with the one woman who sees through his charms may just be what this “Rogue of Millionaire Row” needs to find his place in the world.

I adore this book and LOVE LOVELOVE this series!

Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey(Review Post)

Published June 11, 2019 by bookbesties

41M0cBYSTwL

A brand new romantic comedy from New York Times bestseller Tessa Bailey!

Georgette Castle’s family runs the best home renovation business in town, but she picked balloons instead of blueprints and they haven’t taken her seriously since. Frankly, she’s over it. Georgie loves planning children’s birthday parties and making people laugh, just not at her own expense. She’s determined to fix herself up into a Woman of the World… whatever that means.

Phase one: new framework for her business (a website from this decade, perhaps?)

Phase two: a gut-reno on her wardrobe (fyi, leggings are pants.)

Phase three: updates to her exterior (do people still wax?)

Phase four: put herself on the market (and stop crushing on Travis Ford!)

Living her best life means facing the truth: Georgie hasn’t been on a date since, well, ever. Nobody’s asking the town clown out for a night of hot sex, that’s for sure. Maybe if people think she’s having a steamy love affair, they’ll acknowledge she’s not just the “little sister” who paints faces for a living. And who better to help demolish that image than the resident sports star and tabloid favorite.

Travis Ford was major league baseball’s hottest rookie when an injury ended his career. Now he’s flipping houses to keep busy and trying to forget his glory days. But he can’t even cross the street without someone recapping his greatest hits. Or making a joke about his… bat. And then there’s Georgie, his best friend’s sister, who is not a kid anymore. When she proposes a wild scheme—that they pretend to date, to shock her family and help him land a new job—he agrees. What’s the harm? It’s not like it’s real. But the girl Travis used to tease is now a funny, full-of-life woman and there’s nothing fake about how much he wants her…

OUT NOW!!

Travis is an ex baseball player who now has come back home and is no longer able to play. Travis is now trying to adjust to being back in his hometown. Enter Georgie who has known Travis since she was little being that she is his best friends little sister. Georgie has always been in love with Travis. Now they both will need each other and that means having to spend time together and some steamy moments! Loved this story and the characters are developed well and it had me laughing! Poor Georgie wants to be seen and taken seriously and stop being treated like the kid sister, and she especially wants Travis to look at her like an adult women! Hot and steamy, with relateable and likable characters! Good Job Tessa!

SEXY FILTHY BOSS by Piper Rayne(Review Post)!

Published June 11, 2019 by bookbesties
He’s the sexy alpha male in the corner office who goes through assistants faster than free donuts in the breakroom.
I’m the assistant who was chosen to cover for his last fire.

The owner of the company is clear—hook the biggest client in our firm’s history and there’s a partnership for him and a promotion for me. Stipulation—we do it together.

It doesn’t take a tarot card-reading psychic to figure out where our story is headed… late nights, trips out of town, and more than a few awkward moments filled with sexual tension.

No worries though. I pride myself on my willpower. I can totally ignore his sexy grin, his rock-hard body and his dreamy brown eyes. I will not become the woman other women hate.

But it turns out that Enzo Mancini has a lot of layers and if I don’t stop peeling, I’m going to lose everything, including my dignity.

The title speaks for itself! Don’t miss this sexy OFFICE ROMANCE romantic comedy coming June 11th!

“Please. Come on, Mr. Mancini.”
Even I notice how weird that sounds coming from her mouth now that
our working relationship has turned into more of a tenuous friendship. “Enzo.”
“If I call you Enzo, can I pay my share?” She bats her eyes a few
times.
I twist my lips, thinking about it. The taxi driver huffs, annoyed
that we’re holding him up. “Sure.”
“Please, Enzo?” she says, stressing both words.
The sound of her voice saying my name like that spurs images of
her naked on my bed, begging me to fuck her. Her back arched, her delectable
tits prominently on display with her legs spread. I shift in my seat to hide my
growing hard-on.
She drops the forty dollars onto my lap and opens the door,
leaving before I come back to myself. I lift the forty off my half chub,
concocting a plan to get this back to her without her knowing it.
Her voice rings in my head one more time. Please, Enzo?
I might as well admit defeat. Tonight my dreams will be filled
with me, Annie Stewart, and the word please.

Book lovers one-click anything from Piper Rayne, there is no disappointment.

Okay, where to start?

Well the cover is very appealing and I love the colors.

Lorenzo Mancini(Enzo) is working his way up at the Ad agency that he works at and hopefully will soon become partner of the firm. The thing is poor Enzo cannot keep a assistant to save his life. Enter Annie Stewart who is the assistant to another Ad exec but is roped in to backup Mr. Mancini in order for him to land the big account for Coddle products. Annie is loved by the customer  but struggling to make her boss see that women can make it in this business more than being an assistant to a man.  Enzo and Annie now have to work together in order to land this account and hopefully make Enzo a partner. With the close quarters and attraction simmering, not only are their jobs are at jeopardy but everyone is counting on them for this account.

This romance simmered, you could feel the attraction right away but I liked that Annie didn’t fawn all over him and kept her feelings reined in. Enzo definitely showed a side that I was not expecting but thoroughly enjoyed him turning on the charm and the heat. Insatiable is a word I associate when it comes to anything by this author because that’s how I feel! The other two brothers you get a little insight on them and gets you set up for the other two books to come. Again they know how to write up the connections with the families and I want to come over for Sunday dinner please.

Piper Rayne always knows how to write great book boyfriends, again 5 stars is not enough cant wait for the rest of the series.
