First off  i need to clarify that there are only a handful of books that leave me like, WOW.. where I have a book hangover from them, FSOG was one and then Opal by Jennifer L Armentrout was the other. Both of those book s are wholly different from Real but Real had just the same effect on me that they did. I was completely shocked by this book and drawn in from the first words.

Brooke Dumas was fresh out of college and looking for work, after loosing her dream of going to the Olympics for track from a torn ACL, she got into sports medicine. She meets Remington ‘Riptide’ Tate at an underground boxing match and he thoroughly swirled her insides all around, he went after her to give her a kiss and ask her name, leaving her  all..

Remington Tate is like sex on a stick, he oozes sex from the moment he is introduced. He’s your typical cocky bastard who knows he’s hot as hell, I mean he has an 8 pack!!! I wasn’t even 10% into the book and I was already hooked on him

He ask her to his hotel room, but not for what she thinks, he wants to hire her to be his sports rehab specialist to travel with him while he is on tour doing the underground boxing thing, she agrees because she needs a job and she is also drawn to Remy in a way that she has never been drawn to anyone before in her life.   They start a sort of friendship, exchanging songs on each other’s iPod’s for the other to listen to and when he played her “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls, you know the one

“And i’d give up forever to touch you…”

Yea, I think i melted when she did and I’ve had it on repeat for the duration of the book and maybe a little bit after.  But after receiving mixed signals from him and getting increasingly sexually frustrated Brooke has had it, she wants him and she wants him now. But Brooke has no idea what she is asking for

“When I take you, I want you to be mine, you need to be certain, I want you to know me first, and then I want you to let me know if you still want me to take you.”

Can you say. WHOA!   Remington’s secret is the not you’re typical hot guy secret, I was both shocked and maybe fell in love with him a little more because of it.  Of course there is sex, I mean hello with a man this hot there HAS to be sex, but it was so much more than that, I love books that have more than just sex!  Remey keeps everyone on edge with his championship on the line and there almost, but not really relationship, but  is Brooke sure this is what she wants after finding out his secret?

I was upset at the end of this book only because it was over and wanted more. again I was in a book hangover but also swoony

If i had this blog at the time of FSOG then I would have done this for those books but since i didn’t  I am doing my first ever 6 out of 5 stars! there I said can’t take it back.

Katy Evans writing is like non that I have ever read, it sucks you in, it’s so full of adjectives and analogies and since I’m a visual kinda gal I loved them all! I can’t wait for more!

When I read books I usually fall in love with a character and follow them if they are in other books even just a little bit, whether the book they were in was good or not, it’s just because the character grabbed me so. With that being said Woods never really grabbed me like that in Fallen Too Far and Never Too Far but I was going to get the book because I am a Fan of Abbi’s.  What had me putting this at the top of my TBR pile was the fact that Abbi had said something about the MC, Della that made me want to read it, and boy was I not disappointed.  This book in my opinion was Abbi’s best!

We have woods whom we know a little about from FTF and NTF but we don’t know Woods until this book.  Living under his father’s thumb and running the golf club in hopes to someday have his stake in it like he grew up knowing he would. But his father has planes for him to get to that. Della Sloan is for lack of a better word a wounded bird. She had a horrible thing happen to her and lived a horrible life and is on her own quest to ‘live’ until she stops in a small town on travels and has a one night stand with who? you guessed it, Woods.

Cut to three months later and Della finds herself back in the small town and face to face with the best one night stand of her life.

who just so happens to now be her new boss, talk about AWKWARD!

Della has demons on top of demons but Woods just can’t seem to stay away. Dose he stay even after her demons are reveled and go against his father’s wishes?  Hummm. (I loved that Blair made a small cameo in the book.)

I loved this book for the simple fact it was totally different from anything Abbi had ever written before. All her other MC’s i have felt for and empathized with but none more than Della. You could feel her hurt pouring off the pages, and of course there was sex(this is an Abbi G book) but the story behind the sex was so much MORE than that! And the ending was kinda

I love her but she is killing me with these endings, I can’t wait for the next!

I love getting book recommendations from people, so I was stoked, yes people still used that word, when I got this recommendation from  a friend of mine, especially if it’s NA or close to NA.

Cam has some bad things happen to her, her first love died, her parents divorced, her brother is in jail and her her BFF just dumped her  ! So Cam  got fed up, and let me just say that I have been where home-girl was and have wanted to do what she did, which is to pack some stuff in a bag, not tell anyone good-bye and haul ass on a bus!

Cam is lost metaphorically and when she sets outs for a trip to Idaho she was  searching for something just to make her feel. Enter Andrew, who was traveling from Texas to see his father who was on his death bed, literally. The two seemed to be drawn together instantly but Cam is set to not have her heart open to for any type of relationship, friendship or otherwise.

And Andrew is more than meets the eye, very protective of Cam from the very beginning but also very secretive., especially when it comes to his father and and his feelings about his father’s death.

They form a type of traveling friendship, they are on the road for 18+hours together,  and when it comes time for them to go there different ways something happens to Cam that causes them to once again become traveling friends  only this time cam realizes that maybe, she is starting to feel something a little bit more than what she set out for with cam, I mean he does look like

Personally the moment he said “You can hear that?” I would have been in his lap, but that’s just me.

Andrew brings out a side in Cam that she didn’t even know she had, that was buried deep down inside of her but feels torn because she feels guilty. Andrew is hard but lovable, I didn’t pull that picture from my mind, he is described as looking like Kellan Lutz (Thank You J.A. Redmerski) He tries his hardest to keep Cam at an arms length to no avail.

I both liked and then disliked this book only because of the ending. I loved that it was told in duel POV because I love the male POV and well, I just love Andrew. And I also loved the whole ‘on the road’ thing they had going on and how their relationship grew into something  more.

The ending I was like

I can’t tell you because I don’t do spoilers but man! I wanted to throw my kindle and then yell at my friend for suggesting I read this book. I actually think I did do the last part. But this tells you one thing if nothing else about the author, she is a great author if she can get you  to almost throw you’re Kindle because you are that mad at the characters in her book! All I know is that I’m deff awaiting The Edge of Always, you can pre-order it Here due out November 5th!
