SYNOPSIS:
At
twenty-seven Erin Decker has the perfect life; a thriving career, a dream home
she shares with her best friend Noelle, and a secure relationship with Robert,
her handsome and faithful boyfriend. Or so she thinks.
When her
visions of a marriage proposal are met with the ultimate betrayal, Erin finds
herself in the arms of sexy and strong-willed distraction, Walker Prescott.
Her summer
becomes life changing as she realizes Walker has left her with a tiny piece of
himself and no way to find him…until he suddenly shows up and turns her world
upside down.
Can she let
go of her past to make way for a future she never saw coming?
Can Walker
be exactly what Erin needs?
Will he give
her the perfect life she so desperately craves in the most unexpected way?
EXCERPT:

“What’s in the bag?” I ask
while slamming the grade book closed earning his attention.

“You look so hot Erin. I’m
having a really hard time keeping my hands off of you right now.”
He says
finally pulling a green apple out of the bag.

Turning around, he says
goodbye and heads towards the door as the second bell rings. My classroom is
still empty and my hormones are on high Walker alert.

“Why a green apple, Walker?
Aren’t apples for teachers typically red?” I call out before he hits the
doorway.

Without missing a beat he
spins around, arms braced on the doorframe, and I’m met with lust filled eyes.
His black polo stretching as far as it will go across his heaving chest. “I’ve
heard green makes you horny.”

“You don’t need anything
green to get me horny, Walker. All you have to do is walk into a room,” I
state, and by his expression I can tell he wasn’t expecting that to come out of
my mouth.

Pushing off the frame he
stalks towards me like a man on a mission. As soon as he is a breath away his
palms wrap around my neck pulling his mouth to mine. This kiss is different
than the atmosphere. It’s gentle, fueled by passion, and sexy as hell. At any
moment we could be caught but I don’t care. My no touching below the belt rule
is killing me and my dreams are getting more and more persistent. I want him
and I want him here. Now.

Dragging himself away from
me with a pained look he smiles and I realize he just doesn’t want to stop.
“You surprise me Erin. At every turn I am taken by surprise and I love it.” He
walks backwards and runs his hands through his hair. “I’m falling for you,
baby. Hard. Real hard.”

And he’s gone before he can
hear me whisper “me too.”

Book: Rose in Bloom (Rose of Thornes Series)
Author: Mia Michelle
Genre: erotic romance

Secrets. There are many different reasons for having secrets. Sometimes we choose to keep those secrets to protect people, while other times, they are kept out of deceit and shame. Regardless of their purpose, secrets have the power to hurt us, like nothing else. When we risk losing someone we love, we will stop at nothing, to prevent the truth from ever being known. But sometimes, secrets find their way out onto the open, revealing themselves even against our desperate attempts to keep them hidden. My secret had almost destroyed us, but through the miracle of three little words, “I forgive you,” Skylar had finally set me free from my years of torment. Part of her died the night she lost her parents. No matter what I do, I can never get that part of her back again. Through the tragedy of that night, our lives are forever scarred, yet through our powerful love, I see her once again returning back to life, just like a perfect rose in bloom.

Now that she knows my secret, there is nothing that can ever tear us apart again…or so, I had thought.

Mia fell in love with the literary world at a very young age and began putting her active imagination to pen and paper at the age of six. Over the years, she has filled up numerous shelves with her notebooks and journals of her favorite stories. Twelve years ago, Mia began drafting The Rose of Thorne Series and through encouragement of a close friend, decided to finally take the leap of faith to bring her dream to life. She openly admits to having a hopeless infatuation with her Kindle and suffers from the one-click book addiction (No intervention required).
Mia is currently a stay at home mom who has mastered the fine art of making a PB&J sandwich in between laundry and shuttling kids to ballet and swimming. In her spare time (“What spare time?” She laughs), she enjoys photography, traveling, and having a girls night out with her pals. She enjoys the simple things in life: such as sleeping more than 3 hours per night and 10 minute showers without being interrupted by children yelling “mommy” from the other side of the bathroom door.
Mia Michelle resides in Tennessee with her soul mate and husband, along their two beautiful young children. She is currently working on drafting some exciting new projects due soon!

Author Interview w/ Colet Abedi Author of Mad Love

Published June 9, 2014 by bookbesties

Mad Love

Buy on Amazon for only $3.99!

I don’t understand the mixed reviews of this book, I for one loved it. Sophie is a breath of fresh air and I loved her inner dialog about as much as her outer. She says and think things that are so totally real life, I had to realize that she was not me!
I loved Clayton right away, even the ‘wolf’ part of him and fell in love right about the same time Sophie did. I found myself saying,”I want to be like Sophie, she’s hard-core, she swims with sharks!’ to everyone I came in contact with and having them look at me as if I were insane. The things about Clayton and his past, childhood, adulthood are shocking to Sophie but it wasn’t so much to me and the ending…that left me heartbroken and although I knew it was coming, she knew it was coming I wasn’t prepared for it and I swear if there is not another one in the works I will hunt down the author Misery style. (maybe not, but still).
This was my first book by Colet Abedi and I must say that I was very surprised and loved it!

Colet was awesome enough to do a Q&A with me!

Thank you so much for agreeing to do this Q&A. What made you decide to make the jump from entertainment to author?
Thanks for letting me stop by! Since I was thirteen and read my first romance novel I knew I wanted to be a writer. I wrote a few screenplays in my early twenties then got a break and was head writer on two telenovelas for Fox’s MyNetwork TV. I took a different route to get to my dream of writing romance novels but I believe every experience I’ve had in entertainment has made me a stronger writer. So I’m really grateful for it all.
That’s great,  the thing I love most about Mad Love, was the detail in description about the Maldives Islands, It made me want to waste my savings and go swim with sharks!  Have you ever been? If not what made you pick that island for the setting?
I went to the Maldives for my honeymoon and fell in love. I remember staring out on the ocean and thinking it would be the perfect setting for a romance novel. I think that’s when I started to dream about Sophie and Clayton’s story.
I wasn’t even aware there was a Maldives island until this book, and the fact that you have seen such beauty is amazing! You were a new author to me and upon reading the first chapter I was hooked and finished it really fast. How long did it take you to write?
Thank you so much! That’s the best compliment ever. I wrote Mad Love in about nine months because I was also working on a YA Trilogy with my sister so my time was split.
Being in the entertainment industry is it any different than the writer industry?(i.e. more enthusiastic fans, or more time to yourself)
I think both industries are very similar. They’re both about entertaining people and working your butt off to put the best product out there. But I have to say the fangirls and the enthusiastic response to your work as a writer is a lot more gratifying.

I’m such a pro at Fangirling!  What do you like most about being an author? Least?
I love escaping to another world. I can just let go and live a different life for hours at a time which is nice to do sometimes. I don’t have a least favorite part about being a writer. I just consider myself incredibly lucky to be living my dream so I’m very thankful. If I’m in a crazy head space and feel pressure I just try to remind myself all those times when I would pray that I would publish a book. So I just give thanks.
I think you’re readers just love that we get to escape with you into your world! Now some fun random facts that I like to know about authors, see what makes them tick.(Not really)
Random Fun facts:
Thing you CAN NOT leave the house without:
Lotion. I’m a crazy lotion person.

Favorite Color:
Blue
Favorite swear word:
Fuck
First ever job:
Assistant to an attorney
Favorite song on the radio right now:
Coldplay’s Magic
Thanks again so much Colet for letting me get to know you more, you are definitely on my list of Authors to read more of!

The Dare by Rachel Van Dyken Cover Reveal!

Published June 6, 2014 by bookbesties

Boring Beth Lynn has always lived up to her nickname… until she wakes up in a hotel bed next to a sexy as sin state senator she re-connected with at a wedding the previous night.

The biggest problem? She can’t seem to remember anything about the night before except for crying into a box of cookies, and she’s pretty sure Grandma Nadine slipped something in her drink. And what should have been a one night stand turns into a six day adventure when Grandma whisks them off to Hawaii to save them from the ensuing media firestorm.

Jace isn’t looking for commitment — he believes he made that clear when he left the wedding with Beth. Then again, he can’t remember much of anything other than the way her skin felt beneath his hands. Now he’s stuck with her at some lame couple’s retreat and trying his hardest to fight the attraction only a woman like Beth could invoke.

He doesn’t think it can get any worse.

But one spider attack… A donkey ride from hell… And an unfortunate episode with Viagra tea — and there’s one thing Jace knows for sure: He should never have agreed to Grandma Nadine’s suggestion in the first place.
Because if this isn’t paradise, and it isn’t a vacation — that only leaves one option.

Survival.

But to make it through alive… they might lose their hearts in the process.

teased and taunted her. Yet when they meet again, Travis’s gorgeous smile is a

pass, only one thing starts to become alarmingly clear-she never should have

THE WAGER

Lose a bet, lose your heart…

What is it about a junior-high crush that can send an otherwise intelligent
woman into a tailspin? TV reporter Char Lynn wishes she knew. Jake Titus is too
rich, too handsome, too arrogant: a trifecta that once lured Char into the best
night-and worst morning-after-of her life. Now they’ve been thrown together in
a wedding party. It’s awkward, but survivable . . . until Jake stops acting
like a jerk, and starts acting like the man she’d always hoped he could be.

If watching your brother marry your best friend is weird, being attracted to
your best friend’s other best friend is downright bizarre. Unfortunately
for Jake, Char hasn’t forgotten how he once tossed her aside. Worse still,
Jake’s already-nutty grandma is even crazier about Char. Cue meet-cute
shenanigans and all manner of meddling, and somehow, Jake’s falling. For Char.
Now all he has to do is make her believe it . . .

Book Excerpt

All I was feeling was showing in the bathroom mirror on my reddened face. I was having a hard time enjoying it, instead of being terrified. I cupped some water from the faucet and swallowed, willing myself to get it together. I walked into the hall of the long corridor that led back to the rooftop door and found Seth waiting for me, arms crossed over his chest, casually leaning against the wall. I stood on the opposite wall, placing my hands behind my back. I felt a drop of water drip from my bottom lip onto my chest and slide into the V of my dress. I saw his eyes follow it with envy as he spokes his first words to me.

“You are all I think about, and I come here and you look…like this,” he breathed the words to me and I felt them on every inch of my body. I moved to go to him and he made a small gesture that kept me where I was. He still wanted to play and I was game.

“What do you think about?”

“Your laugh, the way your voice is raspy in the morning when you wake up, the arch of your perfect feet, the way your hair falls over your face when you’re on top of me, the way this feels right now and every time I’m with you.”

I pulled my leg through the thigh high slit in my dress propping my heel on the wall behind me and smiled. He cursed as he came toward me in a blur. He stopped himself inches away, placing both hands on the side of my face against the wall.

“Temptress,” he whispered into my ear.

She got into her seat and drove us to I-didn’t-know-where-yet. The music was playing softly in the car. I was having difficulty with noises, they were making me irritable but the melody was nice so I was okay. We were getting closer to Avery’s house. At least I hoped we were going to her house, because I was frightened to be alone. I needed her, in more than one way. When she turned to the right, I knew we were going to her place because my house was over on the left. I bit the inside of my cheeks to subdue a smile. A few seconds later, Avery parked the car in her driveway. She undid my safety belt, then hers. She got out of the car to help me out, then grabbed my bag and arm-in-arm we walked to her door.
”Calm down, girl. I’m not dying, I’m okay. I can feel your body trembling.”
”I can’t calm down, Remy.” She unlocked the door and pushed it open. ”I lost Carter, okay? He’s gone,” she cried. ”And I came this close,” she showed me a tiny gap between her fingers, ”this close, to losing you too, and that tore me apart.” She put my bag on the table. ”When Megan told me what happened, I passed out, because I couldn’t believe I was going to have to go through this again. We waited twenty-four hours before we finally got the news that you were alive.”
I felt terrible. ”I’m sorry, girl, I’m so sorry.” I pulled her towards me and wrapped my arm around her. She cried and she sobbed against my t-shirt. Ave was in a terrible mess. ”I promised you I would come back, and I did.” I kissed her hair. ”I’m so sorry I had to come back in such a dramatic way.”
”You’re alive, Remy.” She almost never called me by my first name. ”It’s all that matters.”
”I know, Avery.”
We were silent for a moment, her sobs calming down and she regained control of herself. It broke my heart to see her like this, she’d seemed so strong at the hospital and I was just realizing it was a facade. In that instant, I knew we both needed rest and we both had a lot on our minds.
”I think I need to lay down, Ave, I’m getting a little dizzy. I’ll go to my room.” She squeezed me with all of her strength, one last time, before releasing me.
I got to the guest room. There was a bouquet of daisies on the night table. She’d changed the sheets and comforter on the bed for a navy blue one. I made it to the bed just in time, my vision had gone blurry. I sat on the corner of the bed and closed my eyes. The fact that she wanted me to stay here was great, but damn, this was fucked up. She still continued to ignore everything I’d said to her. It made me anxious and the best thing I could do was lie down and chill out. Being around her was even harder now. I put my arm over my eyes, to hide away from the light in the room. Turning it off required too much physical effort for now.
”Remy, are you okay?” Her voice was low.
”Can you turn the light off, please?”
She did and then removed my shoes. I shifted up on the bed and she placed my legs under the comforter. ”Do you feel any pain?”
”It’s not too bad, I can manage.” My head hurt constantly, no matter what I did. In my shoulder, the bullet had torn a muscle and damaged the bone severely. They had to screw the bone together in three different places. It would never be as strong as it used to be, but at least I was alive.
”Okay…” She stayed in the room looking at me. It had me confused, did she want to talk or something?
”Is everything OK, Ave?” I needed to know.
She nodded. ”It’s just good to have you here. I missed you.”
Okay, she was giving signs she wanted to talk, but I thought maybe she wasn’t ready just yet.
”I missed you too, girl.” I smiled.
She returned my smile with one of her own, she seemed suddenly shy and her cheeks flushed. ”I thought about what you said to me a lot. It scared me at first but then, I felt like I already knew about it. Things cleared up in my mind. How you were always looking after me, always making sure I was okay. I should have known, but I only had eyes for Carter. I still love and miss him every single day.” She took a deep breath and rubbed her eyes. ”But… I felt things were different prior to your deployment and I understand now. I didn’t hate it, I liked it. Being closer to you makes me feel better. I need it, but I can’t promise you more than that.”
”What are you saying, exactly, Avery?” I could feel a wave of tingles rush through my body. What did she mean? It was so out of character for her to be so shy.
”I’m saying I still love Carter, I probably always will, but I also like you and need to be around you. I can’t promise you anything, but we could try and see if it would work out.”
”I’m not a consolation prize, Avery.”

I am a hopeless, incurable romantic. When I’m not reading it, I’m writing it. I have just written my first serialized novel and published each part with Amazon Kindle and Smashwords. When I am not writing, I am reading. I love lively, believable characters that you can identify with. I hate getting to the end of a good book and will regularly mourn a good book when when I’ve finished it. My own writing is contemporary adult/erotica.My fave romance quote comes from Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City “I am someone who is looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other love.” – Amen to that sister. My fave sex quote comes from Oscar Wilde “Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power.” – Ain’t that the truth!
