As always Sophie Jordan has written an incredibly fun story that I couldn’t put down.  I don’t think I have encountered a stronger heroine than this one.  The level of self- sacrifice this leading lady is willing to undertake to provide for her family is unparalleled.  I cannot even begin to explain how truly excited and relieved I was when she found her happy ending and was able to fully secure her family’s future.

Marian Langley is doing everything she can to support her three younger siblings.  Desperate times lead her to befriend a once “kept woman” to gain knowledge on becoming a courtesan.  But she has no desire to become just any ordinary courtesan she is determined to become a comfortably kept companion of a member of high society.  Too bad she has no experience in attracting such men.  Her new friend advises her to seek tutelage from “The Depraved Duke”, who they are certain is just the man for the job andconveniently lives near the town.
