Author Bio

Mel Henry has been an avid reader since stealing her first Harlequin from her mom’s nightstand in second grade. Because some words were too big for her seven-year-old vocabulary, she took to writing her own stories (much to the relief of her teacher) and has been doing so ever since.

After having held various jobs in her life that brought her no satisfaction and only a piddly income, she decided to publish her first book. She figured being a starving artist instead of just starving sounded much more interesting. Being able to do it in her pajamas and no make-up are just perks to the job.

Living in Iowa with her husband and a couple of teenaged kids, Mel’s an avid cook (sometimes by choice), traveler (always by choice), and a hardcore warrior against chronic Lyme disease (definitely not by choice). She loves concerts, thunderstorms, and good coffee. She loathes conspiracy theories, egotistical people, and sushi.

She is currently collaborating with three other authors on a project, and has the foundation in place for her next series. In the meantime, you can find her current works on Amazon and other online booksellers.

Rachel swears she will not fall for Malcolm, he’s just a story, get in get a killer expose and get out right? Yea well with Malcolm there is no get in and get out. The more time she spends with him the more she falls for him, not what he shows the world, but him. And when I tell you I felt every one of his caresses, every one of his touches that he gave Rachel I felt EVERY ONE!

Katy has always written in a way that makes you a part of the story, it pulls you in and immerses you so deeply you are the main character and with Malcolm, the thumb ring touches….yes lawd!

Now, I knew what was going to happen I swear I did, but when it did, I was a mess because I was so invested in the characters, the relationship the story all of it, I was left not knowing what to say and wanting to say everything. I could say that I want to sell all my belongings, buy a plane ticket fly to where Katy lives, find her, and DEMAND she give me or tell me part two like NOW

But that would probably put me in the super crazy fan obsessed getting arrested department and just…no. Katy, Katy, Katy you have done it again and I want to be mad at you but I’m settled to bowing down at your sparkly (cause I know they are) heeled feet.

American Savages by J. J. McAvoy

I have been an avid fan of all things Liam and Melody since Ruthless people and from chapter one was hooked. The Untouchables leaves off at the biggest WFT moment a book can have, but that’s not to say it’s a cliff hanger, it’s just a WFT…

A.S picks up a few months after T.U leaves off and we only get a one sided story for the first few chapters which had me sweating bullets but that’s a different story! Mel and Liam are facing new threats, bigger threats and again trust issues. I love Mel and Liam each individually and for me Ruthless people was Liam’s book(meaning I liked him more) and The Untouchables was Melody’s book, well American Savages was both their book because if you thought you knew them from the previous two you were wrong! Seeing both of them grow and become an actual unit and regardless of the ending this was all I wanted out of the series and it happened, this is not a spoiler.

This book, like all the others are told in multiple POV’s and sometimes it was annoying because I didn’t want to know or care what was happening with the other back up’s or side characters but they did move the story along however bothersome I thought they were I see why they were included.

Who I did love and they could have totally stolen the show was Declan and Coralline! If the book was just about them and Mel and Liam I would be a happy camper! The way they went from extras to supporting characters were amazing and when I finished AS and saw that I had THEIR story on my kindle awwww

To me, AS was a great ending, it had me on the edge of my seat for a while there and I thought I was going to have to boycott JJ for a minute, then I was pulled back reminded (by her) that this was just a book! But she writes in such a way that you forget and could very well have watched a T.V series and it’s the series finale. All in all I thought most things got warped up nice and neat and I wouldn’t mind if JJ revised this world in a few years and see what the Callahan’s are up to!

From a young age L.J. Stock was led by her imagination. From the moment she could read she fell into worlds where trees could talk and little girls could move things with their minds.

“Ben, something’s in my pants.”

He dropped the basket to the ground. “What is it?”

“I don’t know, but…ouch! It stung me!” She froze. “Afraid if she moved an inch either direction whatever it was would sting her again. “I think it’s a bee.”

“What does the sting feel like?”

“Are you serious? A sting! Like someone shot a staple into my butt.” Tears came to her eyes.

“Drop your pants, Cara.” He was beside her in a flash.

The back of her thigh started to throb in pain but she continued to stare at him in confusion. “I’m not dropping my pants.” She was mortified.

“If it’s a wasp, it’ll sting you again,” he warned.

Fear washed over her, but not from the wasp. If she pulled down her pants he would see her panties, not the pretty, lace ones she wore once upon a time. Not the panties she knew men like Ben wanted to see on a woman. Cara’s panties certainly wouldn’t be found in a sexy lingerie shop. These were the comfy panties—as she liked to call them—she started wearing when James continually told her how fat she was getting. They didn’t cover up enough for her liking.

Had she gone mad?

And why did she care one hoot what underwear she was wearing? If Ben didn’t like them, then so what!

She smiled. Wow! She was getting the aggressive thing down. Deirdre would be proud.

“Do you need some help?” he asked.

“Cara, we don’t have time for this. Is it not processing that you could be stung again? This is for emergency reasons only.” The sincerity in his expression made it easier to do what she knew must be done.

Unbuttoning and unzipping her jeans, he was polite enough to keep his gaze on her face as she slowly slid the denim down her hips and thighs, slipping them to her knees. All of James’s cruel and degrading verbal assaults crawled through her mind as she stood there, partially naked. He had been the only man who’d seen her without clothes. And he’d never liked what he saw.

“Where did it sting you, sweetheart?” His gentle voice soothed her—a little.

“On my thigh, the back.”

“Turn and let me take a look.” His gaze slipped past her chest, her stomach and she crossed her, vulnerability easing through her. “If it’s a bee sting you could still have the stinger in your skin, which could cause infection. We can’t let that happen. You’re in Nirvana and that bee just wanted a little taste of honey.”

How did he do that? How did he make everything seem okay? How did he make her concerns seem ridiculous? In actuality, her fears were silly. She was being silly. James was gone and she was moving on. The internal scars were fading.

Reluctantly, she turned and closed her eyes. His breath rushed from his lungs and she jerked. Then he was quiet for the longest time. Was he silently gawking at her large butt or her huge thighs? She’d never claimed to be a supermodel and never wanted to be. She read in a magazine that men liked juicy butts, but what exactly did ‘juicy’ mean? Seconds turned into a minute. She started to turn back but he stopped her with a hand on her waist. “What is it, Ben?”

“It’s definitely a bee sting, darlin’.” His voice was smooth as silk.

“Then get it out fast. This is awkward standing here with my pants down around my ankles.”

I catch up to her just as she gets to the top of the steps and push my front into her back making it flushed against the corner of the railing just out of sight.

Her hair glides through my fingers easily as I push it aside and give her the gentlest of kisses on her shoulder blade. She’s wearing a green tank top and tight jean shorts that barely cover the bottom of her ass. My hands grip her hips and I whisper, “Ask me your question and I’ll give you that kiss you’re begging for.”

Her head leans back exposing her neck to me and I take a tiny nip. “Ask me, Noe.”

“Do you think of me?” She finally gives in.

“All the fucking time.” I kiss just under her ear listening to her quiet moans escape.

“I mean do you think of me…when you’re alone? At night? In the shower?”

“When I stroke myself, Noelle? I told you. All. The. Fucking. Time.” I bite at the edge of her ear. “Now turn around.”
