Published May 27, 2015 by bookbesties
Leather
& Lace: Inferno Glory MC by: J.A. Fredericks

GENRE:
Contemporary erotica

RELEASE
DATE:
July 2015

SYNOPSIS:

The day Harley Sonnick is released from
a three year prison sentence for a crime she didn’t willingly commit, she
returns to the only family she has left—the Inferno Glory MC. But the club’s
president isn’t ready to forgive her for past sins and turns her away, forcing
her to trust in a new club member who’s arguably the sexiest man she’s ever
laid eyes on.

Colt Sawyer, a young military veteran like the other MC members, is elusive and
doesn’t have much to do with the women throwing themselves at him until Harley
comes riding into his life on her own motorcycle. Together with his best friend
and fellow MC member Ranger, Colt will do everything in his power to remind
Harley what it’s like to be pleasured by a man and make her feel at home
despite the reluctance of the MC.

Things take an unexpected turn when Harley’s worldly possessions are ripped
away, forcing her to rethink her future. But she isn’t a pathetic princess in
need of saving and is reluctant to accept help. Prison made her hard, forcing
her to guard her feelings at all costs. So when dark, blue eyed Colt does
inexplicable things to both her body and heart, she’s forced down a dark path
of passion and desire that threatens all the safeguards she’s set in
place.

Excerpt:

Fourth shot of Jack
held in the air, I salute the guys. The brown liquid sloshes over the side. “I
hope you boys like what I’m wearing because I’ll be wearing it for a looong
fucking time. I’m brokety-broke.”

“We’ll get you new
clothes,” Colt growls, prying the shot glass from my hand. “Whatever you need,
darlin.’ You let us know and we’ll take care of it.”

I ogle him for a
long moment, wondering how he’s even sexier when I’m fueled with booze. Now
that I have liquid courage, it’d be easier to finally get a taste of his
splendid mouth and run my tongue all over his giant muscles.

Shaking the
thoughts from my head, I release a nasally laugh. “Could you get me a new life?
‘Cause I fucked mine up.
Royally.” Swiping the shot back from Colt, I
slurp it down in one swallow. “More shots!” I call to the bartender, slamming
the empty glass on the wooden bar top.

“No, we’re good,
Christine,” Colt tells the surly, old woman behind the bar. She shakes her head
and leaves us to attend to the only other patron drinking before noon.

“You’re young,
Harley,” Ranger says from Colt’s other side, drinking from his glass of
whiskey. “Whatever happened, you’ve got time to bounce back.”

“Bounce back?” I
ask with a hiccup. “Kinda hard to bounce back without a cent to my name and a
record.”
I study the two hunks with the only eye that will stay open. They’re
collectively so damn hot I’m ready to take them both on the bar-top. “Either of
you boys have a record? And I don’t mean the kind that go round and round.”

Colt’s brows knit
together. “You’ve done time?”

“Three years, just
got out yesterday.” They may as well know the whole truth about me if Remmy
hasn’t told them already. “It’s the reason I’m homeless and family-less and
completely without anyone who could give a fuck about me.” I turn to rest my
elbow on the bar, but miss and about topple off the stool while laughing my ass
off. “And now I don’t even have any underwear! Can you fuckin’ believe that?”

Colt rises and
hooks his arm around my waist. “Time to get you out of here.” He hoists me over
his shoulder so my jean-clad ass is in the air.

“Put me the fuck
down!” I yell, beating my fists against the back of his leather coat and
kicking my legs through the air. “You can’t just fuckin’ man-handle people like
this!”

Ignoring my best
efforts, Colt laughs as he slaps a hand-full of bills on the bar. “Thanks,
Christine. Ranger, let’s roll.”

“Be there in a
minute, hoss,” Ranger answers, chuckling.

I fight Colt the
whole way to the pickup where he dumps my ass on the seat like a sack of
potatoes before sliding in next to me. When I swing my fist at him, he wrestles
me down onto my back, pinning my arms at my sides with one arm braced across my
body. His beautiful eyes are hard as he hovers over me, using his free hand to
flip his hair behind an ear. “Stop fightin’ me darlin,’” he breaths heavily,
our lips enticingly close. “You may think nobody gives a fuck, but I
do
and I’m here for you.”

Frozen by the
enduring look he’s giving me, I become limp beneath him and inhale his enticing
scent. Then the exquisite cock I got a preview of earlier stirs to life between
us, locking my breath in my chest. His grip around my wrists loosens as the
expression on his face morphs into something raw and primal that does
unexplainable things to my insides.

Oh god. I’ve never
wanted someone this way.

Just as I bite my
lip with the thought of bringing my mouth up to meet his, the driver’s door
creaks opens behind me. “You two need alone time?” Ranger asks, his voice wavering
with amusement.

The kind of phenomenal sexy smile that
could impregnate a virgin spreads across Colt’s lips and he laughs, sky-blue
eyes still staring down on me. “Let’s go get this girl some new panties.”

Excerpt

The Mayor was seated at one of the couches and stood as Robert approached. The admin offered a drink, which Robert declined. The men shook hands and Robert noticed that the aid left the office with the admin. There were several folders spread across the table in front of them, along with a tall glass of orange juice. He had heard that the Mayor was cutting back on his caffeine.
Robert may I call you Robert?”
“Yes sir, Robert is just fine. How can I help you today?”
“First, I wanted to thank you for stopping by on such short notice. I heard you were in the building and I had a meeting cancel on me. So this seemed like an opportunity I couldn’t pass up on. I understand that your soccer tournament was incredibly successful. My nephew was on one of the teams and his family came for dinner on Sunday. I hope we will see many more of these types of tournaments, they are vital to the kids in our communities and highlight so well the good things being done.”
“Thank you, Sir. That is very kind of you, and I am glad to hear your nephew enjoyed it. My son had a wonderful time as well. But, I don’t think that was why you really called me in here?”
“Very perceptive as always, Robert. No, it’s not. There is a couple of things that I wanted to discuss. The first is that the city will be awarding you with a Man of the City award. This usually goes through a media person, but I wanted to tell you myself. This is not a politically motivated award at all. Please believe that. What you did for that neighborhood, the park, and the kids all over the city is nothing short of amazing. I am personally proud to know you. Thank you.”
As the Mayor continued to speak he reached over and shook hands with him again. “My media group will be reaching out to your folks. I will defer to you as to how we do this, but I was hoping you would accept it at a fundraiser I am having in a couple of months. The fundraiser is actually for the Policeman’s Widows and Orphan’s Fund. Given your history I thought that would be appropriate.”
“Thank you, Mr. Mayor. That is incredibly kind of you to say. I will do my best to be available. Have your team call my office and I will make sure that Jennifer knows to make me available.”
Before The Mayor spoke he handed Robert a file. “This is for your eyes only Robert. There is an opportunity for an investment that I think you might enjoy. Because of the investment itself the city has to be involved. While not owners, partners, or investors, the city has a vested interest so we sit on the board. As I said, this is highly confidential and has not been publicized by anyone. Those involved are doing their best to keep it as quiet as possible. As you will see when you take a look, as soon as the process is officially started it becomes public knowledge.
I will warn you of one thing should you decide to move forward. Because of the investment it requires intense scrutiny by several very public organizations, including the federal government. I am only telling you this because of what Moffit is up to. Between me and you, he is on a witch hunt for no apparent reason except that I know he is up for reelection next year, and he may have a serious competitor.”
“Thank you, Mr. Mayor for this opportunity. I will take a look at it carefully. I hope you did not put yourself into any unfavorable positions by giving me this. You have been an asset to this city.”
The Mayor chuckled at this. “Thanks, Robert, I don’t usually get business approving of my politics. And no, as an interested ‘silent’ partner the city is permitted to recommend people for the investment.”
Both men stood and shook hands briefly. “Robert, I will keep an eye on the DA but I can’t do anything more than that. Unless of course he steps out of line.”
“Thank you, Mr. Mayor. I look forward to hearing from your media team and it will be an honor to accept the award from you.”

“Do you love him?”

She takes another shot of tequila but still answers. “I thought I did, but is love supposed to be this hard?” she asks before her attention is directed to the door where a few others have come in. She looks down at her phone and frowns. I want to reach over and kiss her sadness away.

“Well,” I start to tell her. “I’ve only ever been in love once so from my experience no… but it does make you vulnerable enough to have your heart ripped open.”

A snort escapes her. “I know how that feels, Ryder. You don’t have to tell me how that feels.”
“So, if Braden ripped your heart open then why are you with him.”

“No, not Braden. You.” Her words cut me to my core. “You ripped my heart out.”

My stomach twists in knots. I did everything but hurt her. Yes, we kept it a secret but I never did anything besides love her and make sure she knew that I did. Hadley was my world and when she left it felt like I was stranded in the middle of the ocean with no paddle in my one man boat.

“Well, you ripped mine out too,” I tell her before taking another shot. I know she is open, answering questions, but she can’t just put all the blame of what happened on me. I didn’t leave her without any idea of where I went. She left me and she left me broken. “But unlike you I haven’t been able to have a normal working relationship since.”

Her eyes lift to mine hurling daggers at me with each second that passes by. Throwing her hands up her voice gets loud enough to draw attention. “Normal? Is this normal to you? My “normal” relationship is hanging on by a thread right now. And you…” she points at me, “ever since you came back it’s like that thread is rapidly unraveling!”

I quickly jump out of my side of the booth and slide into her side. Her eyes grow wide and she cowers into the back of it. Every inch I move in she pushes away until her back hits the wall and her knee comes up to block me. That one sentence, that one beautiful sentence has given me what I didn’t even know I needed to hear.

Leaning in as close as I can get without tasting those beautiful lips of hers I whisper, “Maybe that should tell you something, Had. I make no apologies for unraveling you and now that I know I’m helping dwindle the flimsy string that is holding the joke you call a relationship together,” I breathe in closer. “I plan on watching it fall to the floor and then I’ll secure you with nice, strong rope. Tie us up so tight you can’t move…not that you would want to.”

Her body shakes but not from being scared. It’s quivering. I’m making her quiver and her labored breaths are causing a stir behind the zipper of my jeans. If she wasn’t taken I would claim her mouth once again.

She doesn’t say a word but just stares between my lips and my eyes, her tongue coming out to wet her mouth. She wants me to kiss her.

Fuck it.

I lean in, pushing her erected knee into her chest. Her breath hitches as I bring my hand up to her cheek, caressing it softly, her head falling hesitantly into my palm. Bringing my lips closer she rewets hers, and I take that as my cue to grab the other side of her face and pull her towards me. Our lips just millimeters from one another, our eyes locked on each other.
I pull on a tendril of hair. “I miss the red. It suited you.”

“Ryder,” she whispers, the alcohol from her breath intoxicating me.

“Hadley,” I breathe back into her.

Her eyes blink back a tear and it breaks my heart. “I loved you.”

Taking another move getting so close I can feel her lips graze mine as I say, “I loved you more.”

Max was standing a couple of feet away from Robert, on his left side, and the driver was a couple of feet away, on the right side. The game was well underway and Sams team was winning when he saw Joseph approaching. Suddenly Robert tensed, as he saw Max straighten up, his whole body and mind seemed to be on high alert. With a quick motion of his hand the driver closed in beside Robert and just behind him. The man’s hand reaching for Roberts arm as he said, With me, sirand guided him towards the SUV.
One moment the parents were cheering on their sonsand daughterssoccer teams, and the next there was chaos everywhere. Joseph had broken into a full speed run cutting across the soccer field towards Sam, dodging several of the small children as he raced forward. The driver protecting Robert stopped and knocked him to the ground, as Max went into a crouch, his gun in his hand and sweeping across the field. As Robert landed hard on his left shoulder he saw that Joseph also had his gun out.
The first shot rang out and Robert saw the cop standing beside his car go down, as he was just starting to free his gun from its holster. The bullet tore through the cops left leg and buried itself in the door behind him. With the driver covering him, all Robert could do was watch, in what seemed like incredibly slow motion, as another shot rang out. Robert saw a shooter go down on the far side of the field, the rifle falling to the ground from his lifeless hands. More shots could be heard as the children scattered from the field, parents and children, trying to find each other.
Robert watched as Joseph reached Sam and in one fluid motion pulled him under his arm and took off for the SUV. The driver, kneeling in front of Robert, was firing behind Joseph and Robert saw another man go down. There were four more men charging the field with guns firing at the driver and Max. Robert had not even noticed that Max had moved onto the field and was running an intercept with Joseph, firing as he ran. Another man went down, and then Robert felt the driver topple over.
The mans gun lay on the ground beside him. Robert saw him clutching his shoulder with blood pouring from the wound. Robert grabbed the gun and, despite yells from Joseph, he stood up and ran towards them. Robert remembered what Joseph had taught him about handling the gun and held it, pointing down. The gun tight in both hands as he ran on. Max had passed Joseph and Sam, stopped and dropped to one knee. He was firing at the three men still advancing on them, and Robert saw in horror, that Max’s left arm was hanging to his side useless.
Robert couldnt tell where the other shots were coming from – he guessed from one of Maxs team that was hiding some place. Whoever it was, he was an amazing shot. He fired one at a time, and each time found his mark. Robert passed Joseph carrying Sam, and Joseph shot him a look. He knelt and fired at the approaching men, leading him as Joseph had taught him. He saw the shooter he aimed at slow down as he grabbed his side and then topple as another bullet hit him. The third man was taken off his feet and toppled backward as Max hit him with several shots to the chest. The last man continued to run towards Robert and Max firing as he ran, trying to avoid the bullets flying at him. Just as it seemed like he was going to finally find one of them, the shooters arms flung wide. He staggered forward for several more steps, his eyes already lifeless as he fell forward into the grass.

Max turned to Robert, as shouts of clearcould be heard. Robert leaped up to his feet, desperately needing to check on Sam. As his eyes ran over the scene before him, he noticed the driver was sitting up with another gun in his good hand. He also saw two men jogging towards them and he stiffened before realizing they were part of Maxs team. Robert turned looking around wildly searching and then saw Sam sitting on the ground crying. Beside him lay Joseph and he didnt appear to be moving. Robert looked at Max and the two took off running.

Synopsis

Ayda Hanagan’s life took a whole new road to hell when she agreed to lay down beside Babylon’s very own devil in disguise, Drew Tucker. With an evolving love and the world she once knew now gone forever, Ayda’s toes were no longer dancing on the edge of the flames. She’d jumped straight into the fire, dragging her younger brother, Tate, along for the ride. No matter which way they both turned, Harleys and leather were their new reality, and they had to get used to the fact that acts of war and bad blood were never far away. All that seemed so easy for Ayda to push aside when she was resting in the arms of the man she never expected to love, but when lust, need and sex became as important to her as the air she breathed, it was only going to be a matter of time before reality decided to slap her around the face harder than ever before.

Lost in the screwed-up perfection of their new fairytale, Drew and Ayda thought they could handle anything life threw at them. For every cop, whore or enemy that tried to tear them apart, they found strength in each other and a new weapon to fight back with. Only not all assassins wore their patches on their chest, and before they could even see the eyes of the wolves in the shadows waiting to bring them to their knees, they were all out of places to run.

With everything they’d ever believed in suddenly at risk, fear was no longer an option and Drew and Ayda soon found themselves in the middle of a war that looked impossible to get out of alive. In order to survive, they had to learn how to fight together.

Without restriction.
Without thought.
Without mercy.

Even if that meant sacrificing everything they’d worked for, including each other.

Author Bio

L.J. Stock on Victoria L. James ~ What can I say about Victoria L. James? Loads actually, she’s an amazingly talented author and I had the absolute distinct pleasure of writing with her. I also call her a friend. When we first met, we bonded instantly over our love of music, Victoria tends to be as eclectic as I am with her tastes. She finds stories in lyrics and feels the moods in the melodies.
When we first started writing together, I’ll admit I was intimidated. Here is this woman with a huge passion for putting words onto paper and painting pictures so clearly that you are completely immersed in them. How was I going to keep up with that? I’m not sure I ever did, but over time we’ve built up a repertoire. We bounce off one another and bring our characters to the forefront and hope that the interactions are as real as they appear for us.
On a more personal note, Victoria is bright, smart, kind, intelligent, funny, caring and witty. She can see so much in the world around her and always has time for anyone. Victoria lives in sunny ole Yorkshire with her family and her cats – had to mention them – and can normally be found in the playground of her imagination, listening to the Foo Fighters.

Victoria L. James on L.J. Stock ~ There aren’t many people you bump into in life that you want to both work and spend your free time with. From meeting L.J. through the wonder that is the internet, we soon came to realise that we had a hell of a lot in common. Music was where our friendship truly began, but our writing partnership flourished not too far behind. I always felt like my writing was missing something, and it was only when I read L.J.’s work that I realised what exactly that was. It was missing her influence!
After spending over a year working together, day in, day out, not a moment goes by where I don’t thank the Twitter Gods for bringing this amazingly strong and talented woman into my life. She’s an inspiration, a positive force in every situation and one hell of a talented writer. To say I’m honoured that she wanted to create a new world with me is a gross understatement. I’m blown away. One day, I hope I get lucky enough to visit her in Texas, where she lives with her family and her zoo of animals, so we can write by her pool and take part in our other dream… The great Taylor Kitsch Road (stalking) Trip. Who needs a yacht in the Caribbean when we have that to look forward to, right?

BOOK 1: WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE

Synopsis

There are two kinds of prison sentence that try to break us: the ones served behind iron bars and the ones served through a lifetime of guilt. Some people are handed just one. The unfortunate are given both.
Drew Tucker, despite his formidable reputation, was a man shrouded in darkness who had been dealt every kind of sentence known to man. His only path of survival was to fight and conquer. After five years of solitude, with nothing to keep him company but old ghosts and relentless demons, Drew was finally out, and he had a plan in mind to reign supreme once more.
But everything had changed since he’d left the small town of Babylon, Texas, and where he once fit into the world around him, he now felt misguided, misplaced and misunderstood. Freedom wasn’t free anymore and it sure as hell didn’t come cheap.
That only got worse when he crossed paths with Ayda Hanagan. Legal guardian of her teenage brother, over worked, underpaid and clinging onto sanity by the skin of her teeth, Ayda should have been easier for Drew to beat down and manipulate. She should have been easier to keep quiet. But, as with everything in his life since he got released, nothing seemed to make any damn sense, and the walls were caving in on Drew now more than ever before.
Determined to stay on the road he was born to travel, he was willing to fight whoever got in his way or blocked his path to the top. Even the blue-eyed blonde who seemed to have more mouth than sense. His actions were about to shake up the whole town again, and Drew didn’t care whether that came with or without consequences, or what the hell that meant for the likes of Ayda Hanagan.
