This is another one of those books that does not follow the normal historical romance plot line and as everyone knows I am a sucker for HR books that have a twist. The leading lady in this book is so freaking clever!!! She made a life for herself and was completely independent at a time when women were afraid to let the world know they even had independent thoughts let alone lives. The fact that this woman’s whole life balanced on the fine line between acceptable and scandalous made her even more exciting. Watching how the relationship forms between the Duke and Sophie made this book hard to put down.
