I have recently become a huge fan of Anything Aly writes and it seems she just get’s better and better with each book that’s released.

Thrive is no different.

At first glance I swore this was a love triangle and I DO NOT do love triangles but I trusted Aly to make this right, so I went on and THIS IS NOT A LOVE TRIANGLE. It’s more about two people being in love with each other at the wrong time.

Jeremy ‘Lark’ is in love with Mira, Mira is in love with Jeremy, but her boyfriend Kurt is who she chose for her reasons. They were all friends, until one night, there weren’t and the poo hit the fan. Mira broke two hearts that night she chose to stay with Kurt, her’s and Larks. And lark..my heart bleed for him in that moment.

When a man hits rock bottom, one of two things happen:

He withers.

Or he thrives.

Now, years have gone by and Mira, you can see has had a horrible time and has always regretted her decision, but now, trouble from her former relationship with Kurt barges into her life, literally, and with her friends life hanging in the balance there is only one person she knows, or hopes will help her.

Lark. Who for the first few years was in such a bad place and then he turned his life around, has a good thing with Guardian Protection agency, an ex, but has two twin girls out of it so hes happy and is not looking to hear from the one person he thought he left in the past. Until she calls.

He undoubtedly is pissed at her, I would be too, and at first refuses to help her, but she whispers his name and all is lost.

There is a fine line between an alpha male and an asshole and Aly knows that line, hell she might have even invented that line. Lark is both a jerk but sweet and the the interactions between him and Mira are the stuff sighs are made of.

This is again, why I love Aly Martinez’s work so much. This book had everything, humor, drama, action and aaacction(bedroom).
